Having no more subjects for Painting
Festoni
From the wonderful inventions of Crivelli and the enigmatic ribbons of Lotto, to find two beginnings that are casually distant a decade: the celebration of the discovery of the pleasure of painting and the first awareness of its problematic nature.
It was 1971 when I signed the paintings "square root of ALI" with a boyish impulse, unaware premonitory of the arithmetic games on my name.
It was 1981 when, with the boundless ambition of a student in the first academic year, I believed in the inevitability of a new renaissance capable of healing the modern era, and I still believe it.
The obsession for Painting is stuck inside me like a nail, i look back there when I have to and want to see otherwise, with my eyes turned towards the essence.
